For Sale: 1930 Ford 2-Dr Sedan in ROMNEY, West Virginia for sale in Romney, WV
Vehicle Description Model A tudor that my Dad bought in 1951 off the used car lot at Pancake Chevrolet in Romney, WV.
It had been owned by a Methodist minister.
It was used to as a getting around vehicle on a large tract of land.
This went on for a couple of years, then it was parked in a barn until the mid 80's when we got it out.
It had been played in, roosted on, nests built and everything else that generally happens when left in a dusty old barn for that period of time.
When we got it out, put some fresh gas in, a new battery, cleaned the points and it fired right up.
Since then it has undergone a very slow cosmetic restoration and was sold out of our family in 2013 and bought back in 2020 (or so).
From late 2013 until 2020, it was in a storage unit in Oakland, MD where the owner had it parked when the engine seized.
He called me wanting to know how he should sell it, and in a moment of nostalgia, I bought it back.
It was immediately trailered to Skip Seaton's Auto Restorations in New Salem, PA where a new engine (Model A guru Kevin Pruce provided) and other service related items were taken care of.
Since then, it has been used in (1) parade and then driven to Romney, WV (an hour down the mountain) and putted around town occasionally.
It comes with a heater (a hunk of iron that rests on the exhaust manifold), some spare parts, a very nice trunk, and lots of personality.
It is missing the vacuum tubes that make the windshield wiper work and the dashboard, somewhere along the way, was painted gray.
It retains it's original paint and data plate on the firewall and runs and drives as it should.
The frame is solid and quite original.
It's a piece of our family's history that needs a new home and someone to enjoy it.
The odometer works and it is believed that the 42k miles are correct.
